AR/Cash Apps Analyst

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Cash Applications Specialist / Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our clients finance finance team on a temp/temp to perm basis. This entry-level role is responsible for applying incoming payments to customer accounts accurately and timely, assisting in reconciling accounts, and supporting overall AR operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, is organized, and is eager to grow in the finance and accounting field.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately apply daily cash receipts (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to customer accounts in the ERP system

Research and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments

Work with internal teams (Customer Service, Sales, Billing) to investigate and resolve payment discrepancies

Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate AR records

Monitor AR aging and support collections efforts by providing payment history and other backup as needed

Assist with month-end close activities and reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of all cash application activities

Support audits by providing requested payment and AR information

Help identify and implement process improvements in cash application and AR processes
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or in progress)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-
Basic understanding of accounting principles, especially related to AR
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic functions, data entry, formatting)

Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred:

Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks)

Internship or prior experience in accounting or finance (even part-time or administrative roles)

Tracy is originally from Long Island, NY (Go Giants!) but now resides in Maryland with her husband and daughter. She is an avid fan of the Peloton—especially Cody’s classes, enjoys a glass of wine while relaxing with her family and friends, likes spending time honing her chalk art skills, and loves playing with Bailey Rose, the cutest Zuchon in existence. Tracy has big plans to travel across the US in an RV one day.
