Job Summary:
The SEC Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and filing of the company's financial reports in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This role involves managing the financial reporting process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, and providing insights to senior management on regulatory matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, and excels in managing multiple reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q, 10-K) with the SEC, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the preparation of other required SEC filings, including 8-K reports, proxy statements, and registration statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and equity statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and ensure proper disclosures in financial reports related to financial position, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Stay current with SEC rules, regulations, and industry practices to ensure the company remains in compliance.
- Ensure adherence to all internal control policies and processes in the preparation and filing of SEC reports.
- Support external auditors during the annual audit process, addressing audit requests and findings related to financial reporting.

Financial Analysis and Communication:
- Provide financial analysis and commentary on key financial performance metrics, trends, and variances for inclusion in SEC filings.
- Collaborate with senior management to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Work with internal teams (e.g., accounting, legal, tax) to ensure consistent messaging across financial reports.

Process Improvement:
- Lead efforts to streamline and improve financial reporting processes and ensure timely, accurate, and efficient reporting.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of systems to support the financial reporting function.
- Identify and implement best practices for SEC financial reporting and disclosure.

Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor junior staff involved in the financial reporting process, providing guidance and support in the preparation of SEC filings.
- Foster a collaborative and effective team environment to meet deadlines and improve reporting efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- 5+ years of experience in SEC financial reporting, public accounting, or a similar role with exposure to U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
- Strong understanding of SEC reporting requirements, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other filings.
- Experience with financial statement preparation, technical accounting issues, and external audits.
- Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools (e.g., SEC reporting platforms, Excel, SAP, or Oracle).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment:
The SEC Financial Reporting Manager typically works in an office environment, with occasional flexibility for remote work depending on company policies. The role may require extended hours during critical reporting periods (e.g., quarter-end, year-end) to meet SEC filing deadlines.
This role is critical to ensuring the company’s financial integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements, providing accurate and transparent financial information to stakeholders, investors, and the SEC.
