Job Description
This is a full-time, salaried position with a competitive base salary, annual base and a comprehensive benefits package. One day per week on site in their Center City, Philadelphia office is required/4 days work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Development:
- Design, develop, and optimize relational database schemas, tables, indexes, and queries using PostgreSQL.
- Write efficient SQL queries and stored procedures to meet application requirements.
- Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high performance and scalability.
- API Development & Integration:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs to interface with PostgreSQL databases.
- Work with backend developers to integrate APIs with external systems and services.
- Ensure smooth and efficient data flow between the database and the API layer.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust database solutions.
- Provide support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and resolving data integrity issues.
- Set up regular database backups and recovery processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Developer.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Solid experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with API frameworks (e.g., Flask, Express, Django).
- Familiarity with tools for database migration, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
