Job Description
Four years of experience in troubleshooting computer hardware and software, component isolation and replacement, and system installation, preferred. Well-developed human relations/communications skills. Prior experience working in an education/school setting would be a huge help.
Responsibilities/Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of IT or a designate, the helpdesk technician is responsible for assisting in maintaining computer and peripheral equipment (e.g. laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, mobile devices). The helpdesk technician will also be responsible for supporting Blended and Distance Learning - performing both onsite and remote support.
Areas of support include assisting and training faculty and staff, imaging systems, installing hardware and software, and connecting printers and other peripherals, responding to HelpDesk queries and logging tickets, inventorying computer hardware and accessories, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and escalating incidents as appropriate. The helpdesk technician is also responsible for generating usage reports and helping to identify trends in support requests.
Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills/Qualifications
- Google G-Suite
- Demonstrates competence and experience in current technologies within a K-12 educational organization.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Windows compatible and Macintosh platforms and their operating systems.
- Knowledge of ChromeOS and Chromebooks.
- Knowledge of Apple mobile devices and their operating systems (iPhone, iPad).
- Knowledge of basic networking, client machine installation onto a network and local area troubleshooting.
- A+ Certification preferred.
