Cost Accountant

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop cost estimates of new and proposed products
- Responsible for complete cost buildup of products, including bill of material, labor and overhead and any additional factors
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs
- Develop, maintain and review standard costs for materials, ingredients and packaging
- Monitor material and labor cost and identify information requirements and recommend improvements
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Preparation of weekly and month-end reporting of cost activity and inventory
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- 4-year degree required – Accounting/Business/Finance preferred
- 3+ years of Cost Accounting experience
- Close attention to detail and the ability to function efficiently with a minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong experience with ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to define quantitative/qualitative problems, collect data, interpret results, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to map and follow processes

His deep appreciation for family originated from what his parents provided him growing up. In addition to his wife and three children, he has a dog named Baxter, and two cats named Frank and Murr.
