Job Description


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive research on individuals, foundations, and corporations to identify potential major donors, including wealth indicators, philanthropic interests, and connections.
  • Utilize various research tools and databases to gather information.
  • Analyze research findings and prepare detailed profiles and summaries for use by the team in donor cultivation and solicitation efforts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the database system, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, including gift officers, prospect researchers, and database administrators, to support fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  • Assist in special projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field such as nonprofit management, fundraising, market research, or information science.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Proficiency in using online research tools and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a fundraising or nonprofit environment, particularly in donor research or prospect management.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or DonorPerfect.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines and best practices in prospect research and fundraising.
